How to configure your campaign to send an SMS message

The Send SMS Message extension adds a 2-tap SMS opt-in to your campaigns. When a user clicks a designated button, their phone automatically opens a pre-filled text message - no typing required.

Note: This extension only works on iOS and Android. We recommend adding a Display Rule to limit the campaign to mobile users.

How it works

You configure the phone number and message text using metadata fields on the campaign. A separate metadata field on a button tells Digioh to trigger the SMS send when that button is clicked. When the user taps the button, their phone opens a pre-filled message ready to send.

Installation

Step 1: Install the extension

1. Click your account dropdown (top right) and select Extensions.
2. Find the Send SMS Message extension and install it.

Step 2: Configure the campaign metadata

1. Open your campaign in the Design Editor.
2. Select Settings in the top left and select Campaign Settings from the dropdown.
3. Scroll down and enter the following Campaign Metadata fields: sms_phone_no : <The phone number to text> sms_message : <The SMS message body>

Step 3: Configure the SMS button

1. In the Design Editor, select the button you want to trigger the SMS send.
2. In the button settings sidebar, add the following metadata field: sms_submit_button : true
3. Because this will open the user’s SMS app, we recommend that the button action be set to close the box.

That’s it - the Send SMS Message extension is ready to go!
