Many Digioh users run between 5 to 10 targeted pop ups at a time. You may be worried that the same visitor might see multiple pop ups. No worries! Digioh provides sitewide rules to prevent end visitors from seeing multiple boxes across your website.
To access sitewide rules, navigate to the boxes tab and click on view current boxes. Next hover on more and then select sitewide rules from the dropdown list.
What Does Each Sitewide Rule Do?
- Ignore Sitewide Rules for “Inline” Forms (Recommended)
This lets inline forms appear without blocking pop ups, sidebars, or banners..
Most Digioh users want the ability to show inline forms and a pop up on the same pageview, so we recommend leaving this rule on if you use both inline forms and pop ups on your site.
- Limit to One Box per Pageview
This ensures a visitor sees only one box per pageview, no matter how many boxes are set up.
Your end visitor will not see 2 pop ups during the same pageview. If you have 2 pop ups targeting the same visitor, the topmost pop up in your box list wins.
- Limit to One Box per Session (Not Recommended)
This ensures a visitor sees only one box during their entire session, no matter how many pages they visit.
Once your end visitor sees a box, they will not see another one during that browser session. If the visitor sees a pop up and then comes back after 3 days, they will see another pop up.
- Limit to One Box per Visitor (Not Recommended)
This ensures a visitor sees only one box, no matter how many pages or visits they have.
If your end visitor has EVER seen one of your pop ups, they will never see any other pop ups ever again.
In other words, if a visitor comes to your site, closes your pop up, and then comes back 3 months later, they will never see any other boxes on your site again. We recommend you keep this one unchecked.
- Do Not Show Boxes After Form Submission (Not Recommended)
This stops any more boxes from appearing after a visitor submits a form, even on return visits.
Once a visitor submits any of your pop ups, they will never see another pop up again. This is good if you only have one list and just want the lead once.
- Allow Multiple Boxes to Display Simultaneously (Advanced)
Turn this on to display more than one box at a time to visitors. Recommended only for advanced Digioh users.
- Do Not Show Boxes to Visitors with Disabled Cookies (Advanced)
This prevents issues for visitors with cookies disabled.
This rule is on by default, and we highly recommend it. Our technology runs on cookies and local storage, so we don’t want to wildly fire pop ups at the small minority of users who disable cookies (about 0.1% of browsers).
