Email syntax validation ensures the user will need to enter a correctly-formatted email address in order for their submission to go through. The address will need to be formatted as “firstname.lastname@example.org”.
If you’re using a custom field for the Email field instead of our default field, you can add email syntax validation to it from the editor. Select the custom field you want to use from the Fields dropdown and set the Validation option to Email Syntax:
Also, be sure to set the field as required, otherwise, the user will be able to submit without entering a value.
Once your field is set up correctly save and publish the box and email syntax validation will be applied to it.
NOTE: The standard email field has email syntax validation applied to it by default.
